 La struttura principale del Taj Mahal è fatta di marmo bianco, che è stato estratto da Makrana nel Rajasthan. I quattro minareti che circondano la cupola centrale sono alti 40 metri e sono progettati per inclinarsi leggermente verso l'esterno per proteggere la struttura principale in caso di terremoto.

La cupola centrale del Taj Mahal è circondata da quattro cupole più piccole ed è fatta di marmo bianco. L'interno del mausoleo è decorato con intricati disegni floreali e calligrafia, realizzati con pietre semi-preziose come lapislazzuli, malachite, turchese e giada.

Il Taj Mahal è circondato da splendidi giardini, divisi in quattro parti da canali d'acqua. I giardini sono ispirati allo stile Charbagh, che è uno stile persiano di progettazione dei giardini. Il Taj Mahal è anche situato sulle rive del fiume Yamuna, il che contribuisce alla sua bellezza panoramica.

Il Taj Mahal è una delle attrazioni turistiche più popolari dell'India, attirando milioni di visitatori ogni anno.
